BOARD OF GOVERNORS APPROVES ALUMNI, CONFERENCE CENTER AND HOTEL AT FIU

The new alumni, conference center and hotel will be across the street from a seven-acre property being developed by Global City Development. The mixed-use complex will eventually house approximately 2,300 students in two 20-story towers.

University Bridge GP— a partnership between Global City Development, RER Ventures and Podium Developments—has closed on a $231 million bond issuance for University Bridge Residences, an 886-unit student housing community currently under construction near Florida International University in Miami.

The developer of University Bridge Residences, a planned student housing project next to the Florida International University pedestrian bridge that collapsed earlier this year (2018), raised nearly $228 million in bond financing to complete the project, and has transferred ownership to nonprofit.
